The Beast of the City

“Beware the hunters who stalk their prey through city jungles!”

In a Depression-era American city, Police Chief Jim Fitzpatrick (Walter Huston) has made one man his target: the gangster Sam Belmonte (Jean Hersholt). To get close, he sends his younger brother Ed (Wallace Ford), a police detective, to keep watch over Daisy Stevens (Jean Harlow). Charles Brabin sets cops against gangsters, and the film shows a lawman who fights a criminal by his own methods.
