The Beguiled

“his love...or his life...”

John McBurney (Clint Eastwood) is a wounded Union corporal, carried into an isolated Confederate girls' school late in the Civil War. Martha (Geraldine Page) takes him in, and the women and students around her, among them Edwina (Elizabeth Hartman), begin to see him as more than a patient. Don Siegel keeps the house closed in on him, a place he cannot easily leave.
