The Believer

“He's a jew. He’s a Neo-Nazi. With one true enemy… Himself!”

In present-day New York, Danny Balint (Ryan Gosling) is a sharp, furious young skinhead who argues his hatred of Jews with the fluency of a scholar. He leads a small gang under the eye of Curtis Zampf (Billy Zane), a polished fascist with money and ambitions, and he keeps hidden that he was born Jewish and once studied the Torah. Henry Bean, making his feature debut, holds the camera close on Gosling's face and lets Danny's own arguments do the damage.
