The Believers

“Nothing can stop them, no one can help you. They know who you are.”

Cal Jamison (Martin Sheen) is a police psychologist who has just buried his wife and moved to New York with his young son, Chris (Harley Cross). The job pulls him into a string of ritualistic murders, two youths burned to death, and he is reluctant to touch any of it. John Schlesinger follows Cal through the city's apartments and precinct rooms, and the grief he brought with him does not leave.
