The Best Intentions

Henrik Bergman (Samuel Fröler) is a poor theology student trying to make ends meet when he meets Anna (Pernilla August), the daughter of a wealthy family, and he wants her and the ministry both. Bille August follows them from their courtship into the plain country parish where Henrik takes his pulpit. Anna misses the comfort she was raised in, and Henrik keeps trying, with the best of intentions, to be what she needs.
