The Best of Times

(1986)Directed by Roger Spottiswoode104 min · PG-13Comedy
“A comedy about life, hope, and getting even.”

Jack Dundee (Robin Williams) is a small-town banker who has never gotten past one high school football game he lost years ago. He talks his old teammate Reno Hightower (Kurt Russell) into staging a rematch, and Roger Spottiswoode keeps the whole town close enough to the sidelines to hear it. Jack stands at the edge of the field in his banker's clothes, still looking at the game he didn't win.
