The Best Years of Our Lives

“Three wonderful loves in the best picture of the year!”

Fred Derry (Dana Andrews), Al Stephenson (Fredric March) and Homer Parrish (Harold Russell) just want to get home, and they share a flight toward the same town at the end of the war. Each is coming back to a life that has gone on without him, and the ranks they held in uniform mean little in civilian clothes. William Wyler's film holds on how hard it is to be welcomed home by people who cannot know what the men have carried.
