The Better Angels

Abe (Braydon Denney) is a thoughtful, quiet boy in 1817 Indiana, spending his days beside his mother Nancy (Brit Marling) and learning to work the land from his stern father, Tom (Jason Clarke). Illness takes her, and a new stepmother, Sarah (Diane Kruger), arrives at the isolated log cabin and pushes for his education. A.J. Edwards, working with Terrence Malick as producer, keeps the frontier hardships close to the family.
