The Big Broadcast of 1938
“The finest array of entertainment ever offered!”
T. Frothingill Bellows (W.C. Fields) wants his ocean liner to win a race across the Atlantic, and his family is on board to complicate it. Mitchell Leisen keeps the ship crowded with Martha Raye, Dorothy Lamour, and a run of radio-style musical acts, Bob Hope among them. It is the last of the Big Broadcast pictures, a variety show with a plot, and a stage for Hope's first "Thanks for the Memory."
