A pattern of sadistic torture runs through a jail in the Philippines, where the guards punish the women held there. Five inmates, among them Collier (Judith Brown) and Grear (Pam Grier), plan an escape with help from two men. Jack Hill sets it in a gritty, unnamed tropical prison, and the film is about how much cruelty a group of people will take before they risk everything to get out.
