The Big Fix

“Moses Wine, private detective...so go figure.”

Someone has been spreading a smear against a political candidate, and nobody will say who is behind it. Moses Wine (Richard Dreyfuss), a private detective, takes the job from his old college girlfriend Lila (Susan Anspach) and starts asking questions that lead him through one uncooperative contact after another. Jeremy Kagan, adapting Roger L. Simon's novel, keeps the picture grainy and the detective work close to the ground.
