The Big Town

“Lady luck is always on his side. Tonight, she's on fire.”

J.C. Cullen (Matt Dillon) has a gift for winning at craps and no future in his small town, so in 1957 he heads for the big city to gamble for a living. He breaks the bank at a private game in the Gem Club, owned by George Cole (Tommy Lee Jones), and falls for two women, one of them Cole's wife. Ben Bolt directs it as a neo-noir, putting a farm kid among the dice tables and the people who run them.
