The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe

In 1955, Medama Oyaji (Masako Nozawa) arrives in Yagura Village looking for his missing wife, and finds a place ruled in secret by the Ryuga clan. Mizuki (Hidenobu Kiuchi), a blood bank worker, comes to the same village to mourn the head of his family, and the two men meet as a murder is found at the shrine. Gou Koga builds the film around that meeting, the bond between a husband searching for his wife and a stranger who has his own reasons for being there.
