The Bishop's Wife

(1947)Directed by Henry Koster109 minFantasy, Drama
“Have you heard about Cary and the bishop's wife?”

It is the week before Christmas, and Bishop Henry Brougham (David Niven) has spent months planning a grand new cathedral and chasing the money to build it from a stubborn, wealthy widow. His wife Julia (Loretta Young) has started to feel like a stranger in her own house. Into that comes Dudley (Cary Grant), an angel who helps everyone he meets, and Henry is the only one who doesn't care for it, while Henry Koster directs it all with a light hand.
