“Terror Stalks Its Turreted Battlements... and Horror Crawls the Catacombs Beneath!”

In the castle of Count Karl von Bruno (Stephen McNally), an Austrian nobleman, there is a moat outside and a torture chamber below. Sir Ronald Burton (Richard Greene) comes through the gates, an Englishman searching for two friends who vanished. Nathan Juran puts him among the count's household, which includes Dr. Meissen (Boris Karloff) and Gargon (Lon Chaney Jr.), and Burton keeps asking questions anyway.
