The Black Hole

“A journey that begins where everything ends.”

Dr. Hans Reinhardt (Maximilian Schell) is the commander of the USS Cygnus, a ship long given up as lost, and he has kept it hovering at the edge of a black hole. The crew of the USS Palomino, including Captain Dan Holland (Robert Forster), finds it on the way home from eighteen empty months of searching for alien life. Gary Nelson stages the arrival with the Cygnus sitting steady in front of the pull, its hull still lit against the dark.
