Amalia Keitel (Olga Zubarry) sings in a cabaret and wants one thing, to keep her young daughter safe from a killer who has the city afraid. The prosecutor hunting him, Dr. Bernard (Roberto Escalada), presses his attentions on her, and she turns him away. Román Viñoly Barreto builds this Argentine noir on Fritz Lang's M, and every night Amalia is on stage, her child is out of sight.
