The Black Windmill

(1974)Directed by Don Siegel106 min · PGThriller
“The ultimate exercise in controlled terror.”

A boy goes missing, and the ransom the kidnappers ask for is a cache of diamonds. His father, Maj. John Tarrant (Michael Caine), is a British intelligence officer who soon learns that the people he works for are not going to help him. He sets out to find the kidnappers himself, with Cedric Harper (Donald Pleasence) among those he can no longer trust. Don Siegel shoots it in the hard, grainy way of 1970s thrillers and never lets the pace slacken.
