Two thieves, the Blackbird and West End Bertie (Owen Moore), both fall for Fifi Lorraine (Renée Adorée), a French nightclub performer, and each sets out to outdo the other for her. Tod Browning gives Lon Chaney the Blackbird and a second role, the Bishop of a mission, as a double life. Fifi has to choose between two men who want her, and one of them wants her more than he lets on.
