The Blind Sunflowers

Elena (Maribel Verdú) wants one thing in Orense in 1940, the year after the Civil War ends: to keep her husband Ricardo (Javier Cámara) alive. Each time she locks the front door, she and her children become the guardians of the secret that he is hiding inside, while the victors hunt and imprison those who lost. José Luis Cuerda keeps the camera in the cramped rooms and lets the silence do the pressing.
