In a Manila slum, Maxi (Nathan Lopez) is twelve and openly gay, and he lives among his father Paco (Soliman Cruz) and two older brothers, Boy (Neil Ryan Sese) and Bogs (Ping Medina), who accept him without fuss. Director Kanakan-Balintagos follows him after a beating one evening brings a young police officer, Victor (JR Valentin), to his side. Maxi falls for him fast, while Victor offers only a friend's warmth, and the family Maxi loves waits at home.
