The Blue Gardenia

(1953)Directed by Fritz Lang89 minCrime, Mystery
“There was nothing lily-white about her -- the clinch-and-kill girl they called: The Blue Gardenia”

Norah Larkin (Anne Baxter) is a young woman who wakes the morning after a date to the news that the man she dined with, Harry Prebble (Raymond Burr), has been murdered. She remembers only fragments of the night, and a growing fear that she may have killed him while fighting off his advances. Fritz Lang follows her as Casey Mayo (Richard Conte) starts digging, and Norah stares at the telephone, afraid it will ring.
