The Bow

“A girl who thought the sea was the whole world, became the whole world to an old man.”

An old man, around sixty, has raised a girl on his fishing boat since she was small, and they have agreed to marry on her seventeenth birthday. They rent the boat out to day fishermen and spend the rest of their time in a secluded, quiet routine of strange divination rites. Kim Ki-duk keeps them at sea, and a teenage student steps aboard the boat.
