The Boy Downstairs

“Her ex-lover is her new neighbor.”

Diana (Zosia Mamet) comes back to New York after years away and rents a small apartment in a Brooklyn building, only to find that her ex-boyfriend Ben (Matthew Shear) lives on the floor below. The two of them cross paths on the stairs, and she can't stop thinking about what they once had. Sophie Brooks, in her first feature, keeps the camera close and the mood light, so the awkward hellos and half-finished sentences carry the story.
