The Boy with Green Hair

“Please don't tell why his hair turned green!”

Peter (Dean Stockwell) just wants to be left alone and feel safe, which is hard when you're an orphan in a small town and the kids know it. His parents died doing war relief work in Europe, and Gramp Frye (Pat O'Brien) has taken him in. Joseph Losey follows the boy after he wakes one morning with green hair, and the way he and Gramp sit together at the kitchen table, each trying to understand what has happened, holds the film's warmth.
