“Inspired by a true story.”

Joe Warr (Clive Owen) is a sports writer left alone with his six-year-old son after his wife Katy (Laura Fraser) dies of cancer. Scott Hicks follows him as he ignores the advice of his mother-in-law and the other parents around him, making up his own rules for raising the boy. Harry (George MacKay), his teenage son from an earlier marriage, is about to join them, and Joe has no plan for any of it.
