Julie Kohler (Jeanne Moreau) is pulled back from suicide by her mother, and she leaves home with a list of five men she means to find, charm and kill. They do not know her, and she moves from one to the next. François Truffaut follows her through Coral (Michel Bouquet) and Corey (Jean-Claude Brialy), while the police have yet to see the pattern that connects the deaths.
