The Bridge at Remagen

“Thus ended the last great German stand in the West.”

In March of 1945, with the war in Europe nearly finished, one bridge across the Rhine is still standing, and nobody on either side can say how long it will last. John Guillermin sends Lt. Phil Hartman (George Segal) and Sgt. Angelo (Ben Gazzara) toward it as American and German troops fight over the last crossing. Men on both sides are dying for a strip of steel when the war is already decided.
