The Brother from Another Planet

“He's not just another out-of-towner...”

The Brother (Joe Morton) is a mute alien who looks like any other Black man, and all he wants is to get by unnoticed on the streets of Harlem. Bounty hunters from outer space are tracking him through the neighborhood, while the people he meets assume he is just another stranger who doesn't talk. John Sayles made it on a small budget, and the Brother keeps walking, his face giving away almost nothing.
