The Browning Version

“The greatest lessons in the life and the ones learned by heart.”

Nobody at the prep school can say why Andrew Crocker-Harris (Albert Finney), its teacher of Greek and Latin, is forced to retire after nearly twenty years. The official reason is his health, and the boys call him a Hitler. Mike Figgis follows him through his last days, with Laura (Greta Scacchi) wounding him whenever she can and Frobisher (Michael Gambon) deciding if he gets a pension.
