The Brutalist

“Welcome to America.”

In the years after the war, László Tóth (Adrien Brody), a Hungarian architect and Holocaust survivor, arrives in Pennsylvania with his career behind him. Brady Corbet follows him to the estate of Harrison Lee Van Buren Sr (Guy Pearce), a rich industrialist who offers him a commission and expects obedience in return. László, with his wife Erzsébet (Felicity Jones) still to join him, takes the work because it is the only way back to who he was.
