The Brute
Pedro (Pedro Armendáriz) is a laborer hired to help evict poor families from a tenement slated for demolition, and he does the job with his fists. Then he falls for Meche (Rosita Arenas), a young woman living in the building with her father. Luis Buñuel sets the story among people who have little and are pushed out anyway, showing how easily a poor man's strength gets used against his own neighbors.
