Two terminally ill men meet in a hospital room: Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson), a billionaire mechanic who built an empire, and Carter Chambers (Morgan Freeman), a auto shop owner and former professor. Carter has written a list of things to do before he dies, and Edward, with money and time running out, decides to fund the adventure.
