The 'Burbs

“He's a man of peace in a savage land... Suburbia.”

Ray Peterson (Tom Hanks) has a week off work and one plan for it: beer, the newspaper, a ball game on the tube. Then the Klopeks move into the run-down house on his cul-de-sac, and Lt. Mark Rumsfield (Bruce Dern) and Art Weingartner (Rick Ducommun) decide the neighbors are hiding evildoings. Joe Dante keeps the street so tidy and sunny that the suspicion gets more ridiculous, and Ray, against his wife Carol's (Carrie Fisher) advice, starts watching the house too.
