The Burglar

“A trail of perfume... and violence!”

Nat Harbin (Dan Duryea) is a career burglar who has raised Gladden (Jayne Mansfield) as his ward, and now he needs her for a job. Sister Sarah, a wealthy spiritualist, has inherited an emerald necklace from a Philadelphia financier, and Gladden is sent to pose as an admirer and case her mansion. Paul Wendkos shot much of it on location in Philadelphia and Atlantic City, and Nat spends the days leading up to the break-in in rain-dark streets, watching the house.
