The Butterfly Room

“Kids should never grow up”

Ann (Barbara Steele), an elderly woman living alone and devoted to her butterflies, strikes up a friendship with a quiet young girl who seems to have no one else. Her daughter Dorothy (Heather Langenkamp) is long estranged, and Ann has little else to fill the apartment. Jonathan Zarantonello adapts his own novel and keeps the camera in close quarters with her, so the rooms feel smaller as the friendship deepens.
