The Cameraman

(1928)Directed by Edward Sedgwick74 min · PGComedy, Romance, Drama
“You'll laugh yourself completely out of focus!”

Buster (Buster Keaton), a street photographer, trades his tintype camera for a secondhand movie camera so he can work as a newsreel cameraman. He does it to get close to Sally (Marceline Day), a secretary at the news studio, who barely knows he exists. Edward Sedgwick directs this silent picture, and the cost of Buster's gamble is simple: no footage, no job, and no reason for Sally to look his way.
