The Card Counter

“He's Playing the Hand He Was Dealt.”

William Tell (Oscar Isaac) is a former gambler and U.S. veteran who drifts from casino to casino, counting cards and keeping his bets small. Then Cirk (Tye Sheridan), a young man full of anger, finds him with a plan for revenge on a military colonel. Paul Schrader follows Tell as he takes Cirk along on the poker tour, hoping to do some good for the boy, and himself.
