The Cars That Ate Paris

“148 people live in the township of Paris and every one of them is a murderer.”

Paris is a small, isolated town in rural New South Wales, and most of the people living there make their money from car wrecks. Arthur (Terry Camilleri) survives a crash on the road in and ends up under the care of the Mayor (John Meillon), who has no plans to let him leave. Peter Weir's first feature sets the town's neighbors against its rebellious young men, and Arthur has to decide whose side he is on before the town decides for him.
