The Cat
“A love/hate so devastating it destroys everything...the marriage, the wife, the husband, the house...even the cat”
In a small house waiting for the demolition crews, two people no longer speak. Julien Bouin (Jean Gabin), a retired typographist, saves his tenderness for a cat named Greffier, and his wife Clémence (Simone Signoret), once a circus performer, turns her anger on the animal. Pierre Granier-Deferre sets the pair in the same rooms every day, and the cat is the only thing left between them.
