“Some secrets won't stay buried.”

In November 1924, a weekend cruise aboard William Randolph Hearst's yacht ends with the film producer Thomas Ince (Cary Elwes) dead, and no one agrees on how. Peter Bogdanovich imagines the guests, among them Marion Davies (Kirsten Dunst) and Charlie Chaplin (Eddie Izzard), at a birthday party that turns on Hearst (Edward Herrmann). Everyone aboard has their career to lose, and Hearst's power can bury what they saw.
