The Cave of the Yellow Dog

Nansal (Nansal Batchuluun), the oldest daughter of a Mongolian nomad family, finds a small dog in a cave on the veld and carries it home. Her father (Batchuluun Urjindorj) wants it gone, and Byambasuren Davaa watches the household go about its work while the girl keeps hold of her new friend. With the family's way of life already pulled between the herd and the city, a stray pup is one more thing her parents did not ask for.
