The Cement Garden

“Love knows no limits.”

Their mother falls ill, opens a bank account in the children's names, and dies, and Julie (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and Jack (Andrew Robertson) tell no one, hiding her body in the basement. With the house to themselves, Tom (Ned Birkin) starts dressing as a girl and Sue (Alice Coulthard) retreats into her diary. Andrew Birkin keeps the camera inside the house, so the quiet and the secrecy close in on the children.
