The Child

Sonia (Déborah François) has just come home from the hospital with their newborn, and she wants Bruno (Jérémie Renier), a petty thief, to find steady work and help raise the child. Bruno has other ideas, and he keeps living off small thefts and what money comes in that day. Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne make a film about how little a person can understand of what he owes another, when he has never had to count it.
