The Children Are Watching Us

“A pulsating drama of childhood.”

Pricò (Luciano De Ambrosis), a small boy in Rome, sees his mother Nina (Isa Pola) slip out one evening to meet another man, Roberto (Adriano Rimoldi), and he understands more than anyone has told him. Vittorio De Sica, working with Cesare Zavattini for the first time, keeps the camera at the boy's level as his parents' marriage comes apart. Pricò loves both of them, and neither can stop quarreling long enough to see him standing there.
