The Children of Huang Shi

“War made them orphans, one man made them legends”

In 1937, George Hogg (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), a young British journalist, slips into China during the Japanese occupation and ends up in charge of an orphanage full of abandoned children. With the help of Lee Pearson (Radha Mitchell), an Australian nurse, he tries to keep them fed and out of the army's reach. Roger Spottiswoode builds the film on a true story, and its question is plain: what one stranger owes children who belong to no one else.
