The Children of the Century

George Sand (Juliette Binoche), the novelist born Aurore Dudevant, has already made her name in nineteenth-century Paris when she takes up with the young poet Alfred de Musset (Benoît Magimel). Their affair burns hot and unevenly, and a trip to Venice puts it under strain, with Musset sinking into drugs and Sand drawn toward a handsome doctor. Diane Kurys stays close on the two writers.
