The Circle

“Knowing is good. Knowing everything is better.”

Mae Holland (Emma Watson) is a young worker stuck in a dull job when her friend Annie (Karen Gillan) gets her hired at the Circle, the Internet corporation where Annie has already climbed the ranks. James Ponsoldt, adapting Dave Eggers's novel, sets her inside a company run by Eamon Bailey (Tom Hanks), where her place moves quickly upward. Her old friend Mercer (Ellar Coltrane) watches her change from the outside, and what he sees pulls the two of them apart.
