The Circus
“The Circus is Here!”
A Tramp (Charlie Chaplin) is chased by the police straight into a circus tent, where he blunders through the ring and gets the crowd laughing without trying. The ringmaster (Al Ernest Garcia) hires him to clean up, though the Tramp falls for Merna (Merna Kennedy), the ringmaster's stepdaughter. Chaplin directs the silent comedy on real circus rings and wires, and the stunts are done in full view.
