“Secrets of a doctor as told by a doctor!”

Andrew Manson (Robert Donat), a newly qualified Scottish doctor, takes his first post in a Welsh mining town and wants to find out why so many of the miners cough. King Vidor follows him from the pits to a London practice, where a friend shows him an easier living among rich patients. Rosalind Russell plays Christine Manson, his wife, and the coughing miners are still there on the edge of every scene.
